Captured By A Moorish Pirate

Dateline is “Sur La Cote D’azur En 1677” or, as we might say, “On the French Riviera, 1677”:

moorish pirate grabs a pretty girl

This delicate French flower of the Azure Coast just got plucked by a Moorish pirate, and the caption writers for La Vie Parisienne have some advice for her:

Abandonnez, pauvre captive,
Vos bijoux à ce Maugrebin,
si votre défense est trop vive,
il va fouiller dans vos écrins!

As near as I can puzzle it out with mechanical translation, this means something like:

Poor captive, yield
your jewels to this Maghrebian
If your defense is too strong
He will rummage through your jewel box.

I don’t speak French, but Google tells me that both fouiller and écrins have strong sexual connotations. So the smutty meaning of the double entendre in the last line might be more like “he will rough up your pussy”.

Artwork, but probably not the captioning, is by Chéri Hérouard, whose fetish art we know better under the name Herric.
