I never heard of The Nuns at the time, but back in the early aughts it appears they were a New York City “near-goth experience” post-punk band. They gave such a striking bondage/kink visual experience that, according to a feature article in Draculina #41 (2002), they were in talks with movie production outfit Pandora’s Bazaar to make a fetish movie called Maitresse de Satan.

I can’t find any evidence that the movie got made, but I did find a track on YouTube for an album they recorded under that same name.
