It’s Friday again! And last week as I included this link in the weekly bondage links roundup, I got to thinking about just how important a role Kink.com has played in the life of this bondage blog. Yeah, I’ll freely admit their kinky porn is a bit overexposed now, in the twilight days of 2010 — but back in 2003 when I got started, it was a whole other ‘nother deal.

These days, when I put together the bondage links list for a week, I tend to deliberately avoid the Kink porn. I figure you’ve seen it. I’m trying to send you to something you might not have seen. But, this week I’m going to stay close to home, in my own own archives, and dance with them whut brung me:

• Here’s the first-ever appearance of Kink.com porn (from before they took the Kink.com brand!) on Bondage Blog. It’s model Jenni Lee in jungle bondage from Hogtied.com. See also: Time For A Bondage Safari.
• Another classic: the nagging wife whose husband couldn’t take it any more, so he fed her a ball gag, and then made her get out and run along behind his jeep. On a rope.
• Kink.com also gets the credit for providing the first picture ever to appear on Bondage Blog of a butt hook in use.
• When Sex and Submission was brand new, this was my first post about it on Bondage Blog: “The hot thing about the new site is that in addition to the strict bondage you’ve come to expect, you now get some light-but-authentic bondage sex (mostly oral). You bondage fiends know how rare that is!” They, and we, have both come a long way since then.
• How do you keep a blonde in suspense? Like this!
• This one is from the department of creative unpleasant things to do with ice cubes. Brrrr…
• Unbelievably, it was not until this post in 2006 that I discovered that the Kink.com free sample galleries would support direct text hyperlinking of some of the raunchier photos, ones that are a little too raw for me to put on this blog directly. It’s true that the content servers sometimes return a sporadic 403 Forbidden message, but with even a little bit of persistence, the links generally work.
• I think this sweating bondage blonde is one of my favorite bondage photos of all time.
• Before the debut of Everything Butt, enema content was a rare thing from Kink.com. So this enema bondage photoset from Wired Pussy was an early treat, if you like that sort of thing.
• It’s possible I’ve written a dirtier sentence on Bondage Blog than the one I wrote about pillory sex in ye olden dayes, but if so, I can’t think what it would have been: “Every lustful and despotic lord with a dungeon worthy of the name must have kept a short pillory in it, for the express purpose of taking recalcitrant wenches and bending them over in sexually-available positions, hands held well away out of the way of his whip and his unfettered enjoyment of rear-entry sex.“
• In 2006 I wanted to know, and I still want to know: What sort of evil mind did it require to give this young lady bricks for breast pillows?
• From 2007, here is my post announcing the debut of Device Bondage. I liked it then, and I still do, though I don’t think it ever quite lived up to its initial promise.
• This early Training of O photoshoot where they put some poor girl’s head in a box and then dunked her in a bathtub is still just about the scariest thing I’ve ever seen in a bondage photo shoot. I don’t know why, it just freaks me out at a visceral level. And of course I am in awe that they are able to maintain a great reputation and good business relationships with their models while doing this sort of edgy work — it’s one of the things that makes Kink.com so awesome.
• Are these the biggest boobs ever photographed in bondage? Probably not. But they’ll do as placeholders until somebody points me at some bigger ones. See some more, in case you require more study.
• If there was ever such a thing as an East German women’s prison that administered bondage enemas to the inmates, it would have looked like this.
• When Hogtied.com secured the services of fresh-faced 18-year-old teen cutie Michelle Brown, they had a lot of fun with her innocent appearance. And indeed, who can resist it?
• It’s not nice to think of bondage models as crab bait. But, thanks to the Discovery Channel, every time I see this particular cage, I can’t help it.
