I knew that the old science fiction pulp magazines featured bondage covers all the time, of course. But usually it’s women-in-peril stuff; girl strapped to ticking atomic rocket bomb, that sort of thing. I never realized there were pure BDSM scenes like this out there:

Another magazine illustration of a Western bondage scene by James Dwyer, from the 1950s in Collier’s magazine.
This is from an old euro-bondage mag — one of those with the text in three languages — called Perverted Orgies 2. The prose in the magazine starts “It was Susan’s first day in Copenhagen…” and for Susan, it was all downhill from there:
“Finally the girl ended between two posts. First her arms were brutally stretched apart and chained the posts. The same was done to her feet. Then she was whipped with a beautifully carved camel whip. The cuts had the desired effect and soon the victim’s arse was covered with numerous red weals in a terrible pattern. I like this anime bondage scene from Kinky Delight because the girl holding the leash in the dominatrix role looks as if she’s another slave girl, perhaps of higher status. Isn’t that a bell on her collar? If so, it’s a nice way to remind her that’s she’s still just another slave girl, even when she’s busy terrorizing the new girls:
