Reminds me of containers I’ve seen at the doctor’s office, especially when I was a kid, to catch vomit, drool, whatever. So I’m not sure if it’s “custom,” exactly. It may in fact be an ingenious use of standard medical equipment.

I’ve been very fortunate in my life to have had only limited contacts with doctors and hospitals. So I had not seen one of those before.

My wife’s best friend is a nurse…it is, indeed, a standard medical device, though many now are (disposable) plastic rather than stainless steel.
