I know it’s not always sweetness and light on BDSM movie sets today and there have been some scandals for sure in recent years about model mistreatment. But my overall impression is that overall standards of professionalism towards the models are lightyears above what they were in the 1980s. Somewhere in my archives here I have an interview with “John Blakemore” — one of the many names of the man who did all the roughie loops for California Star slash House of Milan — in which he casually admits to just raping (although he does not use the word and clearly did not conceive of his actions in that way) one of his tied-up models after he finished shooting the movie.
