In some of these shoots they are are, and in some they aren’t. Paintoy being primarily a whipping site, it seems to depend a lot on how skilled/experienced the bottoms are at keeping their hands out of the action zones. If I recall correctly, I cropped this photo where I did because Lavender had some fresh whip marks on her left wrist that reminded me of cutting (self-harm) scars; they clearly weren’t that, but the resonance struck me as unaesthetic so I made the crop as I did.
