Nevertheless, while the young ladies are in custody, and helpless in handcuffs, the police are responsible for both their safety and their dignity. For example, it is possible that their bikini bottoms might come untied or slip in a wardrobe malfunction.

As a precaution to prevent this from happening, the police should immediately see to it that crotch ropes are applied, to shore things up. If the police are too busy at the moment to attend to this, then they should deputize a member of the public to assist.
