Or try K-Lite Codecs pack, that comes with ffmpeg (that reads all from h264 and divx to realvideo and AASC).

(that software is quite easy to google, and it’s free and open source)

I remember I used to need a software firewall (Black Ice Defender?) just to keep that crap from phoning home with reports every time I’d try to play a file.
