FXL5, TinEye is awesome, but unfortunately it’s actual database of images is a tiny tiny subset of “all instances on the web.” In my experience it returns zero results for about 85% of the searches I do.

Results are much better for common widely-used images than for fetish porn — it’s particularly good for identifying bits of old art.

But I do endorse your tip — when it works, it’s sweet sweet magic.

Quick trick – if you want to find something like that, http://www.tineye.com is a reverse image search. Give it the image, it finds all instances of it on the web, which would give you the origin.

What the flash app did to me was mess up my browser so that when I typed text in any browser window, it repositioned my cursor insertion point one character left — so that new text was appearing to the right of the insertion point rather than the left. Made it totally impossible to type, and didn’t go away until I rebooted.

John typed in the URL, WordPress made it an active link. I just edited his comment to add a space after the http:// — if you want to visit his link, just copy and paste both parts into your browser address bar one after the other, removing the space.

You can use the Wayback Machine (http://www.archive.org/) and search for http://www.nottytales.com. It was a great free site in its day. Use an older link, like late 2005 or early 2006. The flash app usually works, or leaves a blank box after a few seconds. The show is in Tales, Page 3, “Away from it All.” The best was “The Celebration” in Epics, but it is one of the few that doesn’t work now. Should have downloaded it back in the day. Cheers.

John, thanks. I deconstructed your link a little bit because the flash app there messed up my computer a little and forced a reboot — folks can rebuild the link if they want, but I wanted to make sure they saw this cautionary note first.
