De Sade Manuscript Saved From Auction

According to this story in the Guardian, the original written-in-prison manuscript for the Marquis de Sade’s notorious 120 Days Of Sodom was expected to sell for nearly six million Euros at auction last month, but was plucked from the sale by order of the French government upon being declared a national treasure:

Good to see that someone in the government of France can acknowledge that not all national treasures are things that everyone in the nation feels comfortable declaring a treasure.
