I don’t understand why the Japanese enjoy this so much, what is behind it?
It’s pretty much impossible to answer “why does X culture seem to enjoy Y fetish?” questions. Certainly I can’t answer this one. But with any fetish, it’s possible to guess at what its appeal might be. There’s a strain of Japanese BDSM that seems to focus on using bondage (nose hooks, lip and face and mouth hooks, eyelid clamps, et cetera) to make a face look grotesque. I can only imagine it’s a humiliation thing, but of course I do not know.
Pretty sure it is a humiliation thing. I have done it a few times with a sub, strangely it did have an affect.
