Bondage By The Shoot

If you’ve spent very long visiting Bondage Blog, you’ll know I like to show (and advertise) a lot of the bondage porn produced by Kink.com. This is no surprise when you consider that their flagship bondage site Hogtied.com was one of the primary inspirations for Bondage Blog, waaaay back in 2003 when I got started.

However, it’s also no surprise that a lot of people who enjoy this kind of quality porn don’t have the money to be putting a monthly recurring subscription charge on their credit cards right now. So I’ve decided to add a portal to Bondage Blog that offers you the chance to buy this stuff by the piece. More precisely, you can buy it by “the shoot”; for a one-time, up-front fee (no recurring charges) you get access to the set of movie clips, stills, and streaming video that makes up one of the weekly updates for these normally subscription-only sites.

The sticker price this way is cheaper, but being honest, you don’t get nearly as much for your money as you would with a full subscription. The attraction is that you can pick out exactly what you want, pay in advance, know exactly how much you’re getting (shoots have descriptions like “121 Pictures | 5 Movie Clips | 77 Streaming Minutes”), and eliminate that whole worry about future billings on your card. I view it as a discount option for the troubled economic times, myself. If any of this sounds good to you, check it out:

This seems like as good a place as any to ask: does anyone know if the UK’s new ‘extreme porn’ law now makes it illegal to subscribe to kink.com in the UK? As a longtime fan I’m finally well-off enough to afford a subscription, only to find that I might get slung in jail for it. Any thoughts?

Ktothex, sadly I don’t know anything about the UK law except what I read on the blogs, and as a general rule, blogs aren’t a great source of legal advice. :( So I can’t help you with that question, sorry.

Ktotchex, here in the states I can recommend http://www.freespeechcoalition.com. Although they deal with matters in the U.S., I have found them to be quite knowledgeable in a variety of subjects and they may be able to steer you towards advice or resource more local to you. Best of luck.

RopeGuy, as far as offering the portal to kink.com in order to help the economic crises; “Way to think out of the box!” That’s the kind of entrepreneurship required to lead us out of these dark times. The administration would be proud.

Thanks, Luther. I don’t now if the Free Speech Coalition can help our UK friend, but you’re right that there’s a good chance of it.

Cheers for the help guys – I think the fact is, nobody’s going to know what actually counts until there’s a test case. Kink’s shooting rules should put them in the clear, but the wording of the law’s woolly enough that I’m not going to take the risk. Sad smiley face.

Sigh. Such a slippery slope is this “extreme” porn law in the UK. Since when is it wrong for a grown man to see naked girls tied up, tied down, hung from the ceiling, and forced to orgasm? It’s not like the girls are forced to do it! Get rid of the dangerous people, not the responsible ones.

Mia commented on February 27th, 2009 at 6:24 am:

Wait, just realized I said “not forced to do it” right after “forced to orgasm.” I meant that, yes, they are forced to orgasm; but they are not forced to participate in the BDSM. Just clarifying.
