Vintage Leather Bondage

One of the things I like about the old vintage bondage photographs is that they seem to sort of predate the modern all-black all-the-time preferences in leather coloring. Modern leather in universal boring urban black makes every item of fetish gear look the same. But in vintage bondage pictures like this one, the leather comes in a wide assortment of natural earth-toned browns. This is cowboy leather, belt leather, functional everyman working American leather. This is the leather the craftsman had handy when he got that very unusual order:

And I miss it.

The brown leather restraints are more “elegant”, I think. The collar that O wears (in the movie version of The Story of O) is brown leather, and it’s a really unusual design that I haven’t seen elsewhere. I don’t have a photo of it, but if you do and would like to post it, I’d appreciate seeing it again :)

I agree, I’m tired of the basic black leather stuff, that’s all you seem to see anymore, I guess that’s why I’ve decided to start making my own gear, besides it fits her so much better when it’s custom made

I couldn’t agree more. I’m currently trying to build a custom collar because evertthing I saw when I shopped seemed a little silly. I’ve been having a hard time finding good lock hardware. Does anybody know of a good supplier? For a good all in one fastener / lock? Preferably finished stainless and very sturdy?
